This weekend I went on my first ever youth trip without any of my family. Call me a little kid I know, but that's what you get when your father is the only youthpastor you ever had. I was a youth worker on this trip and I grew up so much as a leader on this trip. I realized that I was no longer going on trips just to hang out and have fun. Now I am here to impact kids lives the way leaders did when I was in youth. You have to be that positive influence and show them that you can be cool and live a christ-centered life. I'm not blowing my own horn but I feel like I'm cool...well when it comes to 13 to 17 year olds. Also I had to let God speak.through me when kids in my room had questions about life, things happening on the trip, and things God was doing in their lives. I can only pray that I made an impact on their lives and show them how great and awesome christ, his teachings, his life, and his sacrifice truly was. Sonfest was great.

3.09.09.
well today is my birthday and i am now 20. it's hard to believe i am no longer a teen. now i have to grow up and become a man. with that said here is a top 3 of my teen years...enjoy.
1.The age of 13- ah yes i remember this year well. i thought i was the next best thing because i was now a teen. i got to move up to the youth group and i had me a girlfriend. thirteen was full of great memories. my first kiss, being in the youth, getting my grandmother to drop me off at the movies. thank you thirteen...thank you.
2.The age of 19- what an exciting/crazy year. i failed my first year of college, worked a full time job this summer, passed my first semester of college, began to live by myself when my parents moved to Gadsden, preached my first and second sermons in youth service. all in all the age of 19 was a growing up year...thanks 19, i wish i would not have had to learn the hard way.
3.The age of 16-i decided to do this one last because this is the most memorable of my teen years. no, not because i started driving...let me begin with my one and only surprise birthday party. if you have never had or thrown one, i suggest that you plan to very soon because they are very exciting for both parties...props mom and dad for the surprise. the biggest thing that happened this year was having a church turn their back on my father and my family. to watch man effect the move of God in a very negative way and be fine with it should have seriously effected my family to the point of no return. but i would like to say that my father and mother are the strongest people i know because of this. their strenght and faith that they had during this very hard event impacted me and my brother's life for the best. we could have easily turned away, but our faith is stronger today because of how they handled it. we moved that summer to birmingham and since then i have made so many friends that i could not live life without today. so thank you 16, because of your year of my life i learned how to truly LOVE.ACCEPT.FORGIVE.

i have not posted anything in a while. life is great. being busy all the time makes me feel like im actually producing and doing something with my life. im really ready to be done with college though. i cannot wait for the day i graduate. why do i feel this way you ask? mostly because of completion, pressure, and making my family proud. laziness kills me sometimes but i am kicking it's butt right now.
i preached last wednesday. go to my other blog to see my thoughts and what i preached on.

it's been a while since my last post. mostly because of how involved and busy i have been lately. i love it though and it's only gonna get even more busy. i love my life and the things God is putting in my life. i only pray that i don't get too busy for God...this is my biggest prayer lately. to not forget the one that gave me all these opportunities and thank him. im in the process of starting a project so keep me in your prayers.

last night was halo night. my how i have missed you.
i believe that we are going to get rid of that title and just give it the title of them fellas night, because we don't play halo that much anymore. we now play rock band, halo, ncaa, also we watch tv, hang out, and laugh. the highligh of the night was when tripp, out of nowhere, started rolling on the driveway as we all discovered that he was wearing heelys. a 20 yr old guy wearing rolling shoes is hilarious. we all laughed extremely hard. thank you trippman for the chuckle.
i cant wait to see what next week has in store for us.
